Additional Canada Post Fees

One of our Canada Post Partner/ DMAC Member recently recieved this "NEW FEATURES AND UPDATES" from Pitney Bowes of Canada Ltd and we thought we should bring it to your attention.

"As a current user of the StreetSweeper NCOA service we wanted to make you aware of some changes in this product offering. Canada Post is revising the terms of use of the NCOA data effective January 1, 2016. This change will require your company to register in order to obtain a user ID. At the same time this also introduces some additional Canada Post fees.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:

  •   This change will require your company to register with Canada Post and accept the NCOA Terms of Use. Once this is com- plete you will be assigned an ID number that will be used in conjunction with the NCOA software provided by Pitney Bowes.

  •   This replaces the existing ‘Schedule A’ form that is currently required.

  •   You can access this at: canadapost.ca/moverdata

  •   The new user ID’s will be required for any processing after January 1, 2016.

    FEE CHANGES:

  •   Pitney Bowes charges for NCOA software and processing fees remain unchanged.

  •   Canada Post has initiated a new fee that will be billed and collected by us and remitted to Canada Post. The base fee is $0.50 per thousand records processed. E.g. if 100,000 records are processed the additional new fee would be $50.00.

  •   Users of the NCOA service that process a large number of records, over 30,000,000 per year, can opt to pay an unlimited usage fee of $15,000 per year. This will apply to any records processed after you have selected this option.

  •   A user ID must be used for processing a file and the calculation of the fee will be based on that user ID.

    BILLING INFORMATION:

  •   The usage fee billing will be done on a quarterly basis

  •   Unlimited usage must be signed up in advance by contacting us

    UPDATED SOFTWARE:

Necessary changes to the NCOA software will be distributed with the January StreetSweeper program updates. You will receive this update in mid-December.
